“Just as we all expected, it’s those San Francisco Giants — one win away from completing another October journey that just about no one saw coming but themselves.”
— Exhibit 931 in why I hate the East Coast sports media, as Jayson Stark suddenly realizes that the SF Giants exist, play some pretty good ball and that they’ve ruined all of ESPN’s surefire predictions about the Tigers winning it all. At least, unlike in 2010, the sports media is actually crediting the Giants’ pitching and defense for our winning ways. (In 2010, they all blamed the Braves’, the Phillies’ and the Rangers’ bats for going quiet instead of recognizing the pitching clinic they were witnessing.)
